An elderly Australian man checked into the guest house for 7 nights. The purpose of his visit, he said, was to reconnect with 2 very old friends from his youth. I saw him later that day and he looked distraught; he told me one friend had passed away, the other - impossible to find. He stayed in his room, then that night i saw him loading his suitcases into his car. He left quietly, without saying anything, without staying a single night. When I found his room in the morning, I saw that he hadn’t touched anything; I felt an overwhelming feeling of pain and sadness.
